Join us at The Welcome Tree
Because Sydney says YES TO REFUGEES!
Interactive activities will enable more Sydneysiders to show their compassion and care toward people who seek safety and protection in Australia.
Celebrity speakers will share their refugee stories, as well as the Welcoming messages. Tabel (Iraqi) drumming and Persian music will play beforehand and in the background during the ceremony.
Refugees are #PeopleJustLikeUs
We say #EvacuateTheCamps NOW!
#BringThemHere ALL of them! #EndTheSuffering !
What will you say? #RefugeeWelcomeTree (3D portable sculpture) will travel later to wherever you want it to go.
We say Canberra here we come!
*Why a tree? We all know "from little things big things grow". We all know good things come from trees! We all know a tree has roots and we would like to offer settled safety and a good life to those who need safety, who come across the seas to share our boundless plains. There is a better way. Bring your message to the Welcome Tree to #BringThemHere
**Out of town on the 12th March? Post your Welcome message on our Facebook event page ( https://www.facebook.com/events/990000604433911/ )
